Benefits of Becoming a Member

GIPAW offers the information technology professionals of the State, Counties, Cities, Towns, Villages and Tribes the opportunity to share their ideas, concerns and techniques. Have you ever felt like you were asked to reinvent the wheel? With this group, you will have access to an active bulletin board as well as contact information to connect with fellow members to discuss how they handled a similar situation.

Meetings are held twice a year with an annual conference & vendor show in the spring and a general membership meeting in the fall. These meetings are held at different locations around the state of Wisconsin. Meetings include a round table discussion for all members to bring up their ideas and concerns. And just like most organizations, some of the best discussions are held during breaks or lunch when those people with specific needs get together to share their ideas and suggestions with one another.

User surveys which include information about the sites hardware, staff positions, salaries and budgets, along with the names and telephone numbers of contact points, is available to the members.

We invite and encourage you to become a member of this unique group of information technology professionals from all levels of government within the State of Wisconsin.


Membership is open to any government department or agency using or planning to use “information processing” in any form. Entity types include state, county, city, town, village or tribe.

Purpose of GIPAW

  • To provide the necessary organization and leadership to facilitate the exchange of information and experience among members so as to advance and benefit the field of information processing management.
  • To provide the development of technical and educational material for the field of information processing management; and the encouragement of sound, proper and ethical practices.
  • To encourage the advancement of the profession of information processing management.
  • To promote communications with the state and other agencies.


Annual dues are $50.00 per entity and are payable each year by February 1st. Dues are necessary to defray the expenses of the association. Membership commences upon receipt of payment.
