Position closes 6/10/21Job Summary:
Install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software for all networking and computer systems located in the various departments of the County. Maintains inventory, security and maintenance logs. This position operates with a level of confidentiality and the ability to communicate effectively. Responsible for providing truthful and accurate written and verbal communications.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Administer all County Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs). Continually analyze ways for making the networks(s) more productive, efficient and secure.
-Install, update, troubleshoot and recommend the operating systems and version upgrades; operating systems include but are not limited to Windows and Linux.
-Install, update, troubleshoot and recommend hardware; hardware includes but it not limited to network servers, modems, and network communications equipment (i.e. switches, routers, NICs, gateways, patch panels, etc.), computers and peripherals.
-Install, update, troubleshoot and recommend software/applications/cloud solutions for all County offices
-Provide technical assistance. Duties include ample response to hardware, software, and network questions; electronically create and update procedure manuals with corrective actions.
-Serve as a member of the after-hours on-call team.
-Install, update, log, maintain and troubleshoot all in-house and remote communications; protocols include but are not limited to TCPIP; dedicated and dial-up remote lines; connection types include Ethernet copper, fiber optic, and wireless. Develop and maintain County integration with the Internet and State computer systems.
-Maintain and perform system backups on all servers that Technology Services is responsible for.
-Act as a Project Manager for projects appointed by the Technology Services Director and any other duties as assigned.Work Requirements:
-Associate Degree in Network/Computer related field.
-Two years of progressively responsible related experience.
